Are you building the ultimate
industrial or electric loco, interurban, or RDC? Do you want
an instant, clean, and reliable power source? Modern DC control
technology offers an affordable, attractive alternative for powering
a wide range of projects. Microprocessor controlled, solid state
electronics now make the installation of precise, superbly smooth,
high power motor controls as simple as plugging a few numbered
connectors together.
Full Programmability
You can program the controller to match the exact characteristics
of your unit. Adjust acceleration, deceleration, forward and
reverse top speed, brake delay, etc.
Automatic Load Compensation
Controller maintains a constant speed despite changing grades
and resists unwanted roll-back on hills.
Dynamic/Regenerative Braking
When your unit is coasting, decelerating, or drifting down a
grade, the controller feeds the current generated by the traction
motors back into the batteries. This not only aids train control,
but also adds significantly to the time between recharges.
Diagnostics
Controller flashes a visual code to quickly and accurately identify
system faults.
Safety
The controller's microprocessor constantly checks the electronics,
motor, park brake, and batteries, guaranteeing the system's safety.
If system voltage falls below the level necessary to assure reliable
functioning, the entire system shuts down. If the controller
is turned on while the throttle is advanced, the unit will not
move until the throttle is first returned to stop.
Controls
Driving speed can be controlled by either a single-ended throttle
with a separate reverse switch, or a dual direction throttle
to control both direction and speed. Multiple unit operation
is easily set upjust plug the units together!
High Quality Standards
The RMI series of controllers is designed and manufactured to
comply with internationally recognized standards: TUV: Germany;
VA: North America; BS: United Kingdom; CE Mark: Europe; ISO:
International.
Applications
The RMI controller series provides optimal control for the following
applications:
- 24V DC permanent magnet motors
no minimum requirement for motor resistance
- Single or multiple motor drives
- Lead acid or gel cell batteries
- Operation in exposed environments
