In the second picture, you will see the engines side by side, this was to show off the safety stripes that I installed on engine #2... in texas the short lines around the Dallas/Fort Worth area were operated by the Texas Central RR. They had a specific color of orange that they used which was a mixture of reefer orange and reefer yellow that produced a brilliant Orange hue of a color which is the color you see on these engines...also, the even numbered engines had what they called saftey stripes on the cab area, front and back...and the front of the nose, which I accomodated to the best of my ability however with the screens in the nose the stripes were useless but oh well.... also the proto types had large letters reading T E X C on the sides of each engines nose however after trying stencils with paint, and also stick on lettering, the leuvers all over the place turned out being entirely too much of a hassle, so I annexed them also, BUT, as soon as the engines move up here to Oregon where I live, I have a paint expert lined up for the job to be hand painted on there instead. These are WONDERFUL pieces of equipment, and I must tell you that they brought my father a lifetime of happiness that he never had all in one day on the 30th of july 2000 when he was presented with the whole shebang for his birthday. You are great people to work with, and I am ever so glad that I decided to go with your product. I wish to take this oppertunity to thank you once again for being so patient and offering so much effort to make this happen for me. Hopefully one day we will meet at a train gathering of sort, and I will be able to show off my engines in person. Until then, see ya.. Clinton Nelson PS that is my dad Ron Nelson Sr. in the second picture, with his air mattress and all...we took him up with us again later on that week after his birthday and did some work hauling dirt around the bitter creek for Carl, it was alot of fun and dad loved it." |
